Sainte Croix du Verdon
The village is built high on a promontory overlooking the lake and is centred around it's sixteenth century church. The old village has some lovely houses and pretty public squares. The views of the lake as you walk through the pretty little streets are breathtaking.
There are cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy local dishes on their terraces against the fabulous backdrop of the lake and mountains together with some gift and craft shops selling local produce. The village also has a local supermarket and tourist information.
The Lake is a 5min walk down to from the village where there are boat hire businesses and snack bars. There are lovely town beaches all along the shoreline or more private ones the further along you go.
